Location

There is an abundance of choice when it comes to activities and places to visit; the moors are very much there for those who like walking with vast areas of unspoilt natural rugged beauty particularly when the heather is in season. The familiar sight of sheep roaming free (eating our garden plants if they get the chance) small hamlets and hill farms scattered throughout the North Yorkshire Moors.

We are only a few miles from the historical town (Dracula's) Whitby that produced its own famous sons, amongst these were Captain James Cook, the 18th century explorer and voyager who had set sail in the Bark Endeavour from Whitby, the outstanding father and son whaling masters of the Scoresby family and pioneer photographer, Frank Meadow Sutcliffe.

Places nearby to visit: Flamingo land, Robin Hoods Bay, Scarborough, Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway and the ancient city of York.
